Most of my images have been taken close to home; I am constantly photographing my surroundings as I go for walks, work in my garden, or visit local attractions. This portfolio is more about the iconic locations that define the area. I need to work a bit harder to share the best of where I call home.
The pigs are from the Pullen Park carousel, one of the oldest in the country. The bright blue tile roof graces an old garage near downtown Durham. The Peace Frog lives on Ninth Street, in Durham, near Duke.
Closer to home, the old chimney is on an old house on the Dix Park land. I’m happy to say that the plans are to renovate the house and the two that sit with it! Hot Now is the call to come and get fresh doughnuts when you are in downtown Raleigh. The NC Art Museum has a large collection of Rodin, these hands are from a statue overlooking the waterlily pond just outside the Rodin collection.
