While I was busy chasing chipmunks, Jimmy was busy taking pictures of these wonderful jays. I managed to tear myself away from the furry little guys and shoot some birds too. I love the coloring of these jays much better than our blue jays, probably because I had never seen them and ours are so common.
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!
I am most definitely a parrothead. When I discovered Jimmy Buffett, I found a musician that I could connect with. His lyrics put a lot of my life views into words; he sings about things that I’ve often had a hard time talking about. Several of my pieces carry the titles of his songs.
Parrots are very quirky creatures. Whenever parrots are out in public, there is always a crowd. They bring to mind pirates of old and the Margaritaville state of mind. I was hoping to find an interesting story behind parrots becoming the mascot for Margaritaville; according to Wikipedia the name … began at a concert in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jimmy commented that the crowd was wearing Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats, much like the “Deadheads”. Evidently parrot hats have been around longer than parrot heads!
These two guys live in Orlando at Animal Kingdom; in a Margaritaville state of mind!
This little guy caught my attention while I had my students our shooting the old building on Dorothea Dix campus. Obviously a fledgling, he was very persistent to get away.
