I hate to keep asking my husband to pull over so I can photograph something. He’s happy to do it but it usually means having to turn around and go back because I don’t see ‘it’ fast enough. My father-in-law died in October last year. My husband went home early for several days to help get things in order so I made the trip to Hampton, VA by myself. The weather was yucky and I was dressed up in heels but I stopped for everything that caught my eye!
I have a very hard time coming up with creative titles for my work sometimes. Recently I have been naming them with Jimmy Buffett song titles. Alot to Drink About has gotten into two shows this year: North Carolina at Visual Art Exchange and the Annual Members Show at Durham Art Guild.
My best friend and I went out one afternoon looking for old nostalgic buildings to photograph. It was starting to rain when we passed this small shed. The painting on the door looks like a rainbow and the text implies that this used to be childcare. I hope not…
This worn out bear seems to be waiting for someone to come back.
It seems that there are old buildings everywhere you look; Downtown Cary and Downtown Durham.
