In the fall, I watch for leaves with interesting color combinations as I follow Daisy through the neighborhood. There are a few trees in the neighborhood that have very large leaves. I knew as soon as I saw this one that I had to carry it home to photograph. The eyes are symmetrical, the nose a little crooked, and the tail, perfectly straight. It was dry enough for just the right amount of curl to lift him off the ground, adding a means of propulsion.
The Gremlin is the only black and white photograph is this series. He is perfect just the way he is. He looks just like a mischievous elf from European fairy tales.
