The anthropomorphic series stems from a couple of things; one is that the human is programed to recognize faces and two, my being near sighted. I wear glasses to drive but don’t need them for day to day activities, hence I see some pretty interesting things from time to time!
Most of the images in this collection were taken in my neighborhood. My dog and I go for long walks through the neighborhood daily. When I see something interesting, I grab my camera when I get home and head right back out to photograph it before I forget or it changes. I live in an old section of Raleigh where we have a lot of mature trees and well established landscaping. Time takes a toll on the trees and the wounds heal creating interesting holes and rings. The bark on some species are great abstract designs and the bumps and knots on the Crepe Myrtles are gorgeous. I see faces all around me.
